WITH US, YOU CAN TEST YOUR LOW-VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR ACCORDING TO EN 61439
SAFETY TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR LOW-VOLTAGE SWITCHGEARS ACCORDING TO EN 61439
According to EN 61439, various electrical tests must be carried out to ensure the safety and functionality of low-voltage switchgear assemblies. The most important tests include:
- Insulation Resistance Test: This test measures the resistance between the active parts and the protective conductor to ensure that no unwanted short circuits or leakage currents occur.
- Dielectric Strength Test: In this test, the switchgear combination undergoes a high-voltage test to ensure that it can withstand the specified voltage values without experiencing breakdowns or insulation failures.
- Protective Conductor Resistance Test: This test checks the resistance of the protective conductor to ensure that it is sufficiently low-ohmic and provides a safe current path in the event of a fault.
- Functional Test: In this test, the various functions of the switchgear combination are tested to ensure that it operates properly and meets the requirements.
- Short-Circuit Withstand Test: This test simulates a short-circuit scenario and verifies whether the switchgear combination can withstand the occurring current and mechanical stresses without sustaining damage.
- Ingress Protection Test: This test checks whether the switchgear combination meets the specified degree of protection against the ingress of dust and moisture.
These tests aim to ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of low-voltage switchgear combinations in accordance with the requirements of EN61439.
